Why another planning poker app?

I built Fib because I got tired of the other ones. Every tool my team reached for wanted a signup first, or hid the useful bits behind a paywall, or ran so many ads that pointing three stories felt like work. And the look of them. Grey boxes and clip-art card backs, staring back at me every single week.

Nobody loves planning poker that much to begin with, so a tool for it has no business making the hour worse. I wanted one that's actually pleasant to use and easy on the eyes, with no account to make and nothing to dismiss before you can vote. So I made one small, dull part of the week a little less annoying. If Fib does that for your team, I'm happy. And if it ever makes your day a bit better, you can buy me a coffee. What is planning poker?

Planning poker is a consensus-based estimation technique agile teams use to size backlog items. Everyone picks a card in private, then the whole team reveals at once, so no one anchors on the first number said out loud.

The Fibonacci scale

Estimates use the Fibonacci sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21...) because the growing gaps between numbers match how hard it is to size big or vague work compared to small, well-understood work.

How a session runs

A host creates a room and shares the link. There's no signup, no account, and nothing to install. Teammates join with just a name, vote on the current topic, and the host reveals the cards once everyone is in. Talk through any split, then move to the next round. The whole loop is meant to take a minute, not a meeting.

Card decks

Rooms start on the Fibonacci deck, and the host can switch decks anytime from the room settings, so everyone estimates with the same hand of cards. Changing the deck starts the round fresh.

  The default. Growing gaps between cards mirror how uncertainty grows with size.

  A longer scale with a ½ card and a bigger top end for sizing epics.

• Powers of two0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64

  Each card doubles the last, for teams who think in doublings.

• T-shirt sizesXS, S, M, L, XL, XXL

  Relative sizing without numbers, for quick, low-pressure rounds.

Every deck also carries three special cards: ? when you're unsure, ☕ to call a coffee break, and 🃏 when the work is off the top of the scale.

Everything in a round

I kept the ceremony light, but gave the host everything they need to run a clean vote.

• Shared topicThe host sets what you're estimating, so everyone votes on the same thing.
• Secret votesCards stay hidden until the host reveals, so no one anchors on the first number.
• Round timerStart an optional countdown that can auto-reveal once everyone's voted, and defaults quiet voters to a coffee card.
• Instant resultsOn reveal, Fib shows the spread and a decisive call: agreed, split, or discuss and re-vote.
• ReactionsDrop a quick emoji to react without breaking the flow of the vote.
• Consensus celebrationWhen the whole team lands on the same card, the table throws a little confetti.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. Fib has no signup and no accounts. A host creates a room and shares the link, and teammates join with just a name.

Is Fib free?

Yes, completely free. No paywall, no trial, and nothing to upgrade to. If Fib saves your team some hassle, you can buy me a coffee, but you never have to.

Can I see votes before everyone has voted?

No. Votes stay hidden until the host reveals them, so no one anchors on someone else's number.
